what's up [Sep. 9th, 2007|04:50 pm]
[mood | accomplished]

So I got a nudge recently to update my journal, it's been over a year now i see...

I have entered into an apprenticeship program to be an electrician. I love my job and I am learning a lot and having fun.

I went to Maui, Hawaii recently with my partner, Rabbitt, and we got engaged on a tropical beach. We chose to get tattoos rather than rings to celebrate, the first piece we got is sea turtles. I'll post a picture on myspace.

We are also pregnant. Our child is due in late January and we suspect a girl.

We have a niceish house in SE portland where we are gardening and enjoying life. We have not yet set a date for the wedding, but it will be far enough out to give travelers plenty of time to make preparations.

I have met a couple guys I have been playing music with, it could turn into another band in the next few months, if we find a steady place to practice.

how are you?

Why I eat organic [Aug. 1st, 2006|04:41 pm]
[mood | hungry]

http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2006/08/343665.shtml

there is scary stuff going on in our food supply. you are what you eat is not just a trueism, we constantly replenish our bodies using the materials we feed ourselves with, and just like any other system; garbage in, garbage out. Eat healthy y'all!

[Current Location |Portland]
[mood | excited]

Here are the final details:

Thursday I have to go get my formal wear before I can come to the park, so it may be 5:00 before I get there.

do bring food. PotLuck is the way to go. I'll make sure there is charcoal to grill stuff, and I will bring something vegan and organic.

I plan to be at the picnic area below the falls, but I haven't been to the park in years, so i don't know how much detail i can give. I hope to see you there.

who wants to join the army? [Jun. 1st, 2006|01:44 pm]
US Mandatory MILITARY DRAFT 18-42 quietly snuck in!

As described at http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c109:H.R.4752.IH:

on February 14, 2006, Congressman Charles Rangel (NY) introduced a bill (Universal National Service Act of 2006 - HR 4752 IH) aiming at drafting everyone - men and women alike - from the ages of 18 to 42 into the military for a minimum period of 2 years. Or to quote the bill: "To provide for the common defense by requiring all persons in the United States, including women, between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes." The House is to convene on June 6 (06/06/06] to debate and possibly adopt this bill, that is, unless a vast public outcry succeeds in derailing this insanity, which you can do by writing a letter of protest to your congress person through http://www.conservativeusa.org/mega-cong.htm or http://www.webslingerz.com/jhoffman/congress-email.html

MoveOn.org campaign to preserve Network Neutrality [Apr. 21st, 2006|07:42 am]
[mood | annoyed]

Do you buy books online, use Google, or download to an Ipod? These
activities, plus MoveOn's online organizing ability, will be hurt if
Congress passes a radical law that gives giant corporations more control
over the Internet.

Internet providers like AT&T and Verizon are lobbying Congress hard to gut
Network Neutrality, the Internet's First Amendment. Net Neutrality
prevents AT&T from choosing which websites open most easily for you based
on which site pays AT&T more. Amazon doesn't have to outbid Barnes & Noble
for the right to work more properly on your computer.

If Net Neutrality is gutted, MoveOn either pays protection money to
dominant Internet providers or risks that online activism tools don't work
for members. Amazon and Google either pay protection money or risk that
their websites process slowly on your computer. That why these high-tech
pioneers are joining the fight to protect Network Neutrality [1]--and you
can do your part today.

The free and open Internet is under seige--can you sign this petition
letting your member of Congress know you support preserving Network
Neutrality? Click here:

Hello Livejournal [Mar. 6th, 2006|12:19 pm]
Dear Livejournal

I'm sorry i don't use you more often, It's not that i don't like you, just that i have been busy living my life not sitting here writing about it recently. My new job has provided me with enought idle time on lunch for me to post a badly needed update, so here we are.

I moved back to portland (SouthEast) with my girlfriend of a half year, Rabbitt. I work from home via the internet doing technical support, so i am online durring the day west coast time.

I'll write again on my next spare lunch break.

Hello [Jun. 28th, 2005|05:06 pm]
I don't update this very often. I think that is partly because most days I have nothing interesting to report, and on days that i do, i am often busy with whatever is intersting and not sitting here writing about it.

Kodama had three kittens in mid-May. Two of them have new homes, the third is still here. I am waiting to find out if it has a home or if it needs one still. Cats are cool, I like them.

E-Lie is going strong. We have upgraded a lot of our equipment recently, and are closing in on owning everything to start running our own events. we still need a few things, but generally everything is coming together. visit the bad site for more on that.

I have been doing temp work recently, helping produce a catalog of clothing products. I am going to be returning to the world of Pizza this week. The Godfathers Pizza near my house is going to hire me to make pizza crusts each morning, Monday to Friday. This works out great because it is close to home and does not interfear with band stuff.

I have been listening to the new Gorillaz album "Demon Days" a lot recently, it is good, and darn catchy.

It's been a while [Apr. 20th, 2005|01:32 am]
[mood | content]
[music |Negativland - True/False tour 2000]

I just got reminded how long it has been since I posted in here, so i am checking in. I see a number of people have become my friends over the last several months, this is right, keep up the good work people.

Generally life has been pretty good for me. I feel much better than when my ribs were *VERY* broken, I am still sore and uncomfortable every day, but I feel like I am healing still, so that is going well.

The Nightmare Collective is amazing, I am learning lots of cool new skills here, and generally participating in art and projects which has been an amazing source of pleasure for me.

E-Lie is playing two shows a week now, pretty much constantly, so I keep busy with that. Our CD is in production now, we whould have the finished product in about three weeks, and we are looking to do the release party in mid-May sometime. I also updated the website so it is less lame now.

One of my Kittens (Kodama ) is pregnant, she has been getting bigger and bigger for a couple weeks now. This means that While i waited too long to get her spayed, I will have kittens to give away to anybody interested in about two months.

Homeward bound [Feb. 8th, 2005|11:17 am]
[mood | okay]

Today concludes my visit to Minneapolis. I didn't get to see nearly everybody i had hoped. I did get to see plenty of people I missed. next visit will not be a suprise so maybe the timing will work out better.

I have had a wonderful visit. I have caught up with my family and many of my good freinds from over the years. now that I am trying to see everybody in a few days i reralize how many people i left behind when i moved to the west coast. this is both sad and glad news however, because at least I have a lot of friends to leave behind, that is a far cry better than some people manage. :)

I am very excited to return to my crazy new home, full of awesome roomies. i eagerly await returning to band practice and making some music. I also need to get back to finding a job and earning rent and such, so off i go.

Suprise! [Feb. 5th, 2005|06:00 pm]
I didn 't post till now to prevent word from spreading too fast. I am currently in My parent's house in Minneapolis. [info]angelo arranged to sneak me into town for the weekend, where I have been suprising people by turning up at their doors. I don't know where everybody's doors are, and i do wantr to see people, so I am letting the secret slip. call or email or post a reply here if you want to see me, I fly home on Tuesday, so I have a couple days left, perhaps we can arrange a big gathering in the next couple days.

Alone Again [Jan. 31st, 2005|12:31 pm]
[mood | sad]
[music |Pink Floyd - Echos]

It's funny to me what impacts me and what doesn't. I saw [info]angelo and [info]neugotik the other day. it was awesome, and it had been like a year and a half since I had seen them last, but it was strange how much it was just seeing them again. like with friends time and space don't seem to detract from our relationship, so when we are together again we just fall into being friends in the same place instead of friends far away. I was really glad to see you both, and i look forward to doing so again soon.

Then there are the things I don't expect to hit me so hard. I saw Becca again last night. She came out here to my place for the first time, and basiclly broke off our seeing each other and left. Now, I have only seen her a handful of times over the last couple months, and we were not in any serious relationship, but this really hurt. She is an amazing person, the likes of which I rarely meet, and I was/am very fond of her. I am sad about this. I hope I can get over it, there is no bad blood between us, and I want to keep her in my life because she is just an awesome person. That may or may not work out...

And to all my protective, err, psychotic friends, no blunt objects are required, but you are welcome to travel for a visit any time you like, I could use a hug today.
